Lucian Rinando offers his sensibilities to flutists as a performing artist and as an accomplished technician. His consummate understanding of flute playing and thoughtful insight into the needs of flutists was the inspiration for naming his business, Flute SoLucian.
In 2006 he embarked on a 5 year apprenticeship as an employee at Your Flute Works and it was there that his astute skills in all aspects of repair and sales were forged. Working with Master Technician Anne Pollack, his experience with every expression of flute repair has given him a rare understanding and ability to produce meticulously fine restorations to instruments of all models and makes.
“Listening and observing how a flutist plays, is the first step for me when restoring an instrument. Whether a teacher, a chamber musician, an orchestral player, or a contemporary music performer, many factors go into regulating a player's instrument to their specific needs. Every player is unique and a complete understanding of flute technique and instrument manufacturing go hand in hand with adjusting an instrument."
