Di Zhao offers a complete line of flutes in the Boston tradition of fine quality flute making: gold, silver, silver-plated, and wood flutes, wood and resin piccolos, alto flutes and bass flutes. All instruments are hand crafted with extreme care in his factory in the Hubei province, Jing Zhao, China by artisans who are trained directly by Mr. Zhao. The flutes are padded with Pisoni pads and partially shimmed, like professional flutes.
Di Zhao flutes feature incredibly smooth key action, fast response, and excellent resonance. Each instrument is tested and adjusted by Mr. Zhao in Westford, Massachussetts, before it is delivered. Hand cut headjoints, with undercuts and overcuts, are easy to play and produce a rich full sound in all registers.
Di Zhao wooden flutes are made of carefully selected grenadilla wood, treated and seasoned to resist changes in temperature and humidity. The vibrant sound and quiet mechanism on this flute is impressive, especially for such a competitively priced wooden instrument.
All flutes are tuned to A=442 and come with a one-year warranty. Di Zhao offers a free adjustment within the first three months, if needed.
